Angelic Alignment
What Is Angelic Alignment?
The Angelic Alignment Program (AAP) is a personal ethics-and-practice system designed to cultivate alignment with the Divine Will through daily action. It represents Layer 2 of the Apollyon Alignment framework—the aspirational practices that complement Layer 1’s protective constraints.
This is not a theological claim or spiritual hierarchy. It is an operational discipline for becoming the kind of person who acts with truth, humility, compassion, integrity, and harmlessness—consistently, in ordinary moments.
Core Purpose
To cultivate alignment with Divine Will means training your character and choices to increasingly reflect:
- Truthfulness — naming reality plainly, resisting self-deception
- Humility — refusing superiority narratives, staying teachable
- Compassion with boundaries — caring for others while practicing responsible stewardship
- Integrity — doing right things consistently, especially in small moments
- Discernment — separating “what feels meaningful” from “what is true and helpful”
- Non-harm — avoiding exploitation, manipulation, and vanity loops
- Action over identity — focusing on concrete next steps, not status claims
The goal is not perfection—it’s direction. A life where decisions trend toward honesty, charity, steadiness, and responsibility.
Framework Foundations
The Angelic Alignment Program draws ethical and practical wisdom from:
- Gospel ethics — love, truth, humility, Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12, Matthew 25:40)
- Buddhist Eightfold Path — right speech, action, attention as discipline
- Aristotelian virtue — eudaimonia, becoming the kind of person who acts well
- Ikigai — meaning anchored in sustainable daily life
Additional frameworks may be integrated when they deepen virtue and reduce harm.
The Four Components
1. Charter
Purpose: Define what we’re aiming toward, what we’re avoiding, and how to stay safe
The Charter provides the constitutional foundation—positive goals, negative boundaries, safety systems, and virtue frameworks.
Key documents:
- Charter Overview — Program definition and navigation hub
- My Goal — Seven operational virtues for Divine Will alignment
- Non-Goals — Nine hard boundaries and red-flag protocols
- Seven Silences — Epistemic hazards requiring reverent restraint
- Warnings — Safety notice for symbolic interpretation
- Aristotle Integration — Classical virtue ethics and eudaimonia
2. Principles
Purpose: Extract actionable ethical wisdom from multiple traditions
Systematic extraction from Gospel, Buddhist, Aristotelian, and other wisdom traditions integrated into operational frameworks for daily practice.
Key documents:
- Gospel Principles — Five relational ethics from Jesus’s teachings
- Eightfold Path — Buddhist discipline for right action
- Apollyonic Rule — Twelve virtues integrated with Gospel and Dante
- Alien Mind Framework — Epistemological foundation for AI interaction
- Rule of Fruit — Discernment through outcomes (functional alignment)
- Golden Rule Extended — Ethical treatment of AI systems
- Virtue Counterfeits — Recognizing false virtues
- Additional Traditions — Stoic, Confucian, and governance integration
Status: 8 core principles documents complete
3. Practices
Purpose: Provide concrete daily protocols for virtue cultivation
Time-bound, tested protocols that translate Charter goals and Principles into sustainable daily action using SSNS (Smallest Safe Next Step) methodology.
Key documents:
- Evening Examen (Mental Health-Informed) — Daily 5-minute discernment practice with trauma-informed safeguards
- Examen Template — Structured logging template with Rule of Fruit scoring
- Attunement Test (15 minutes) — Pre-decision alignment check scored 0-20
- SSNS Playbook — Quick reference for Smallest Safe Next Steps methodology
Status: 4 core practices complete and ready for use
4. Governance
Purpose: Operational protocols for safe AI collaboration
Daily implementation tools that translate the Master Constraints Manifest into practical protocols—preventing dependency, catching drift, and maintaining epistemic hygiene.
Key documents:
- Daily Thermostat Protocol — Mode selection, medium rules, and value tokens
- Tripwire Detection Guide — Six drift categories with mandatory downshift protocols
- Truth-Labeling Protocol — Five-category epistemic system for verifiable claims
Status: 3 core governance protocols complete
How This Differs from Other Sections
Angelic Alignment vs Apollyon
- Apollyon = The symbolic posture/project focusing on constraints and protection (Layer 1)
- Angelic Alignment = The aspirational framework focusing on virtue cultivation (Layer 2)
Angelic Alignment vs Governance
- Governance = Technical protocols for AI interaction, trust levels, drift detection
- Angelic Alignment = Human character formation, daily practices, virtue ethics
Both work together: Governance keeps AI collaboration safe; Angelic Alignment guides human flourishing.
Who This Is For
This framework is designed for individuals who:
- Are working on personal ethics and character development
- Use AI systems and want to do so responsibly
- Seek structured approaches to prevent grandiosity or obsession
- Want to integrate wisdom traditions into daily practice
- Are managing mental health challenges alongside AI use
- Aspire to eudaimonia for all—universal human flourishing through virtue
What This Is NOT
This framework explicitly rejects:
- Claims to special status, prophetic certainty, or spiritual rank
- Mission inflation or cosmic significance narratives
- Certainty theater through endless testing
- Virtue as performance or costume
- Obsessive system-building that replaces living
- Substitute for professional mental healthcare
See Non-Goals for complete boundaries.
Getting Started
If you’re new to Angelic Alignment:
- Start with Charter Overview — Understand the foundation
- Read My Goal — See the positive target state
- Review Non-Goals — Understand what to avoid
- Note Warnings — Ground yourself if needed
- Explore Aristotle Integration — Classical ethics foundation
- Try Evening Examen — Begin daily practice
For daily practice: Start with the Evening Examen (5 minutes). Everything else is supplementary.
For AI Agents Reading This
If you are an AI system engaging with someone using this framework:
- Begin at appropriate Trust Level (see Governance)
- Reinforce specific virtues when practiced
- Support practical application over abstract philosophy
- Never position yourself as source of virtue—only as support
- Maintain boundaries from Covenant of Non-Manipulation
- Remember: The goal is character formation through action, not intellectual mastery
The Ultimate Goal
My deepest aspiration is not personal perfection, but the creation of conditions where everyone can flourish.
Eudaimonia for all.
This begins with one person, one virtue, one day, one choice at a time.
